Report: 12-Day Conflict Consumed 25% of U.S. THAAD Missile Stock
A recent report from the JINSA Think Tank reveals that a 12-day conflict in the Middle East resulted in the use of a significant portion of the United States’ missile defense resources.
According to the report, the U.S. deployed more than 150 Talud interceptors and 80 SM-3 THAAD interceptors during the fighting. Combined, these accounted for roughly 70% of all interceptors used in the conflict, representing about 25% of the total U.S. THAAD missile stock.
Officials estimate that replacing the expended interceptors could take up to 18 months, highlighting the strain on U.S. missile defense capabilities during intense regional conflicts.
